Back to Part 7 — Forward to Part 9
First, I want to appoligize for the dry commentary that’s been going on here. Part of it is having a lack of anything to say, because the story has already said it. But it’s also that there’s a lot that needs to happen further down the road, and I don’t want to spoil it. So there’s that.
Second, hi people that drink! This is what parties look like to the other side. Actually, I could sum up what parties were like in high school (and also college, and a good part of post-college, too) in one word: obnoxious. Remember the whole “saying what I needed to say in the story?” There you have it. Parties were alienating. I didn’t go to a school as nearly divided as Ty and Bryan’s, so I went to my fair share of parties, you know, to be social. Except it’s hard to be social when people are incoherent. Whatever. Just thought I’d put that out there.
More importantly, Bourbon’s old friends. One of them gets named. The others, not so much. This is just about how Bourbon feels about them. The old group, not too far removed from the Church Street Dirties, were a series of interchangeable people, moving in and out of the circle. Bourbon, it seems, made one ‘friend’ here, and the rest just talk about him. He’s happy to see them the same way going back to one’s home town can be nice: they’re familiar.
Clearly, the rest of the Group is not happy about this reunion, the least of which, Farly. I’m sure you could imagine why. Of course, as always, there’s more going on than I’m willing to talk about right now.
Also, the way Ty and Bourbon play is adorable. This is one of my favorite moments in this story.
As always, questions are totally welcome.

Q: Can you turn me into a fur so I can use it for a random profile picture on facebook? =)
I also liked Ty and Bourbon playing. It made me happy. I hope Bourbon is going to be OK, though. I don’t like the people he’s choosing to hang with at this party.
I can’t give away anything, but I so very badly want to. You’ll have to wait and see!
As for the fur thing, I’ll see what I can do, but I’m terrible at following through on creative-related promises. I still owe a co-worker a comic… from July. =(
slacker! ;-)
The Church Street Dirties sound exactly like a circle of people I used to hang out with.. I had one friend in it and when I left, no one really cared because people were constantly coming and going. Just having a group was more important than who was in it.
I can see that, the group being more important. It’s just, sometimes, it’s nice to be missed. That’s what happened to Bourbon. He gets caught up in that.
